The KenTech K-12 Residential Energy System

a garage-installed, hybrid solar-battery solution designed to work with the grid daily and independently during outages. It reduces household grid demand, supports critical loads, and improves energy resilience without exporting power to the utility.
The system is designed for simplicity, cost control, and reliable everyday operation.

Everyday Energy + Blackout Protection

The K-12 operates continuously to offset grid demand and automatically isolates during outages — unlike traditional generators that sit idle until failure occurs.

How the System Works

The K-12 system operates in two modes:

Daily Grid-Connected Operation

During normal conditions, the system works alongside the utility grid, supplying a significant portion of household electrical needs and reducing grid load during peak hours.

Automatic Standalone Operation

When the grid goes offline, the system automatically isolates and continues powering designated household circuits without interruption.

Solar Configuration

Solar panels are installed externally — on the roof, a canopy, or mounted above existing outdoor equipment such as an AC condenser.
This approach:
• Keeps electronics and batteries protected indoors
• Improves thermal performance of outdoor equipment through shading
• Allows flexible solar placement without modifying the garage installation

Safety & Grid Interaction

KenTech systems utilize certified hybrid inverters
with automatic isolation and utility-safe synchronization.

When grid-connected, systems operate in non-export configuration as designed. When the grid is unavailable, systems fully isolate while continuing to power selected loads.
